Porthloo Property Can Build Extension

Council chamber at the Old Wesleyan Chapel

The owners of a Porthloo property have been given permission for a two-storey rear extension.

Amy Hiron and Colin Jenkins of the Ropewalk want to add an additional bedroom and playroom to the two-bedroomed property, which they say is needed for their growing family.

The white rendered and slate-roofed extension was described by planning officer Harriet Bowen as appropriate for the site and said there would be limited visual impact due the location and mature hedging around the proposed site.

The AONB also approved the design but asked for water conservation and rainwater harvesting measures to be added as a condition.

The scheme will also require existing solar panels to be re-sited.

The plan was recommended for approval and was passed unanimously by councillors.
