Nominations Open For Cornwall Business Awards

cornwall business awardsIsland-based businesses are being encouraged to enter this year’s Cornwall Businesses Awards, which open for nominations this week.

Although entrants will be competing with firms from across Cornwall, organisers point out that Churchtown Farm on St Martin’s were the first winners in the Customer Focus category in 2006.

This year the event will be run in partnership with Business Cornwall and Cornwall Chamber of Commerce.

Around 350 business leaders are expected to attend the awards dinner at St Mellion International Resort on 16th May.

There are fourteen award categories, which include Best New Business and a new category this year, Best Family Business.

But one category islanders won’t be able to enter is the Best Use of Superfast Broadband as details of when and how Scilly’s connection will be upgraded remain unresolved.

The closing date for entries is midnight on March 17th and you can enter at the Cornwall Business Awards website.
