Culdrose Helicopter Called Out To Scilly

The RNAS Culdrose helicopter was the only aircraft that made it over to Scilly in the storm force winds yesterday. And it came twice.

The naval search and rescue crew faced 68mph gusts to land at St Mary’s airport yesterday lunchtime.

They picked up a man with suspected cardiac problems and took him to Treliske. The chopper picked up a paramedic from Penzance on the way.

It was sent over here again at around 10.30pm. A 52-year-old local male was taken to the mainland for hospital treatment.
