Scilly’s Hospital Meets CQC Standards

St Mary’s Hospital

St Mary’s hospital has met all the required standards following a Care Quality Commission inspection.

The hospital was assessed on seven areas including welfare of patients, cleanliness and infection control, management of medicines and staffing.

The inspectors spent time on the ward and talked to people who were receiving treatment.

One patient explained that they were, “really well looked after” and they, “feel very safe and cared for.”

The assessors found that staff were aware of the need to respect confidential and personal information.

CQC also found that the hospital was clean and hygienic and patients praised the level of cleanliness.

Director of Nursing, Helen Newson, for Peninsula Community Health, says she is very proud of the staff at St Mary’s and has praised them highly for their hard work and conscientious attitude.
