Group Take Step Closer To Replacing Primary Care Trust
Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group has taken a step closer to taking over the organisation of health services in our region next April.
They’ve published a draft constitution, which describes how they’ll operate, including their financial management and how they’ll involve local people and GPs in their work.
The new group will be responsible for buying health services on behalf of local people, which is currently carried out by the Primary Care Trust.
Scilly will be part of the South Kerrier area, alongside another nine areas covering the whole of Cornwall, and is represented on the new group’s board by Dr Francis Old from the Helston medical practice that currently run the St Mary’s health centre.
Emma Corlett from the NHS said the constitution is still a draft document and they’d welcome feedback from the public.
It’ll be finalised by March next year, ready for when Kernow CCG takes over from the Primary Care Trust. The document can be found on Kernow CCG’s website at http://www.kernowcc.org.uk/about_us/constitution
