School Path Improvements To Start On Monday

Path improvements, designed to allow easier and safer walking to school for islands children, will begin on Monday.

The works will see a new path constructed in Old Town and a resurfacing of the Moorwell route, which has become waterlogged recently.

There’s been widespread concern voiced by parents at the access to the new school, which opened last autumn.

The project will take under a week and is being done during the half term holidays when the school is closed to cause the least possible disruption to residents and traffic.

The Council press office warn that there will be some disruption to traffic through Old Town during the works, and for a period of time the Moorwell path will be closed.

The work is being undertaken by Coldmac, using the same materials used to resurface the rear road at Carn Gwaval. Materials will be stored at the Nowhere car park from today.
