Lifelong Learning Sets Up Learner’s Forum

Lifelong Learning has set up a new Learner’s Forum to provide feedback on their courses and programmes.

Co-ordinator, Jaclyn Pearson, told us the intention of the new group is to give learners a voice and to tell the organisers what’s working and what isn’t.

The forum will chair its own meetings and set the agenda, she says.

Jaclyn says the first meeting on Wednesday, which was attended by four people, was very positive and provided some really useful feedback, particularly on the length of courses offered.

She said that while people were happy with short, snappy, one or two day courses, some felt they’d benefit from programmes that were spread out across the year, with a monthly meeting.

She said this could work particularly well for areas like vegetable growing, where the learners could see the different vegetables growing through the season.

They’re hoping to organise another meeting towards the end of November, when more people will be able to attend.
