Hobby Horse Racing Raises Money

The Brownies got to try their hobbyhorse riding skills at the Church Hall on St Mary’s yesterday in a charity fundraiser in aid of the St Mary’s Riding Centre.

Fiona Robson says the facility is much loved by the youngsters as they do their horse-riding badge there and they wanted something horse-related as a fundraiser.

The Brownies, joined by a few adults, managed to raise £81.

Fiona says they hope to raise more funds for good causes later in the season. Upcoming events include a joint fundraiser with the PTA and something for MacMillan Cancer support.

Winner of the child hobbyhorse run was Xanthe Robson in 8.2s while Rachel Guthrie won for the adults in 9s.
