School Football Club Ex-Chair Re-Elected

The former chairman of the Five Islands School football club has been re-elected into the role.

Dave Stone began his association with the club eight years ago and is the last-remaining founder member along with Jim Johnson.

Since the early days, the club has gone on to achieve FA Charter Standard Mark status, which recognises high standards in training and coaching.

The membership has grown each year and the club now attracts 85 regular players.

Dave’s mission is to maintain the standard of coaching and to encourage more female footballers. There’s always a disproportionate number of girls compare to boys and, he says, he’d like to address that imbalance.
