Scilly’s Pubs Get Real Ale Listing

The Turk’s Head is one of the pubs being listed by Camra

Two of the Scilly’s seven pubs in Scilly have made it into the Campaign for Real Ale Good Beer Guide. The latest edition of ‘The Beer Lovers’ Bible’ has listed 4,500 licensed premises across the country.

Nicki Anderson of the Turks Head on St Agnes said she was delighted to included for a third consecutive year. Nicki thinks the listing makes a difference to her customers and she’s proud of it.

The Old Town Inn, which hosts annual real ale festivals, was singled out for a listing for the fourth time. Keith Campion says he does get trade because of the quality mark.

Camra send secret testers and Keith says one of them only revealed his role when he had retired.

Jon Howard of Camra told us getting the mark is all down to the quality of the real ale and sometimes real cider at the bar.
