Hotel Wants To Convert Laundry To Offices

St Mary’s Hall Hotel

The management of St Mary’s Hall Hotel hope that Council planners will look favourably on their application to turn the former hotel laundry into offices.

Two rooms at the side of the building are no longer needed as utility rooms, as the hotel’s proprietor now owns the laundry at Porthmellon.

Clifford Freeman wants to move Scilly Self Catering into the hotel and by creating a new side office entrance in the hotel, the applicant hopes to streamline operations for both businesses.

Bringing the holiday rentals on site will share personnel and help both businesses’ long-term viability. There’ll also be some aesthetic improvements, as boarded-up windows will be replaced with glazing as part of the plan.

Planners will discuss the application later in the autumn.
