Tresco Beach Voted One Of Best In UK

A beach on Tresco has again been voted one of the best in Britain.

The Daily Telegraph claims that the stretch of sand at Pentle Bay, “induces a broad grin.”

They’ve placed the beach, which is on the southeast side of the island, third in their top ten for it’s bleached white sand and emerald-and-turquoise sea.

The newspaper singled out the colours of the bay as, ”light, bright, almost tropical in its brilliance.”

But they add that when you take a dip, and it’s 2oC colder than the mainland, you’ll confirm that you are still in Britain.

Pentle held the same position behind Porthcurno and Watergate Bay last year.

Alasdair Moore of Tresco Estate says such press coverage can only be good for Tresco and the Isles of Scilly.

And he says there are quite a number of beaches across the islands that would qualify for the Top 10.
