O2 Mobile Services Still Unavailable On Islands

O2 users in Scilly look unlikely to be able to make or receive calls again today. It’s the fourth day of an outage caused by a technical fault at their Telegraph mast.

Company spokesman Nicola Green says they tried to fix the fault remotely but were unsuccessful so they’re sending an engineer to visit the site this week.

The company says they apologise to any O2 customers who have been inconvenienced by this outage and are doing all they can to restore network coverage as quickly as possible.

St Mary’s police staff are the only officers in the Devon and Cornwall force who are not on the O2 network. Sergeant Colin Taylor realised that Vodafone was the strongest signal and switched staff from O2 in April.
