Lifeboat Called After Boy Reported Missing

St Agnes campsite

The St Mary’s lifeboat was launched yesterday afternoon to help search the coastline after a visiting teenager was reported missing from the campsite on St Agnes.

The youngster was 14 years of age but had special needs, which made him vulnerable. After he was missing for around 45 minutes his parents contacted the site owners who, in turn, alerted the Coastguard.

Four Coastguard members joined the search along with fire crew and Falmouth Coastguard asked for assistance from the lifeboat in searching the north and west side of the island.

Just after 2pm the boy was found safe and well by one of the campsite staff at Long Point.
