Familiar Voice At Olympics Closing Ceremony

You may have heard a familiar voice at the London Olympics closing ceremony last night.

Trish Bertram, the announcer who has introduced many programmes and features on Radio Scilly for the past five years was chosen as the voice of the games.

Trish, who records the Radio Scilly voiceovers regularly at her home in North London, was approached about being the voice of the games in January but kept her role a closely guarded secret.

An estimated 1 billion people will have heard Trish, a slightly larger audience than when she introduces the news or what’s ons on Radio Scilly.
