Mundesley House Fete A Success

Mundesley House

The Mundesley Boarding House fete was a success.

The Off-Island students who board on St Mary’s four nights a week during the school term arranged the event to pay for paint to redecorate the rooms.

Funds were also raised to buy decking for the science area of the new Five Islands School so pupils can be taught outside in summer.

The third cause was the School-in-a-Bag charity, which packs learning materials for dispatch to developing countries.

House parent Ann Pearson says the three causes this year will all benefit by £260 each, and the PTA will match the funding for the science department decking.

She was pleased how the bric-a-brac collection service worked. Ann used Radio Scilly to ask islanders with jumble to call her for collection and she says she made a number of pick-ups before the Saturday sale.
