St Martin’s Businesses Closed

The Seven Stones Inn on St Martin's

The Sevenstones Inn and the St Martin’s Bakery are closed this morning after receivers forced the businesses to shut because of bankruptcy.

Toby Tobin Dougan says the closure for the Inn will be temporary.

He says negotiations are currently underway and he hopes that St Martin’s only pub will open again soon.

And it’ll be baking as normal from tomorrow at the bakery. Toby says he and his colleague Barney will be open for business in the morning.

Gutted for Toby in what I’m sure is a temporary setback; stopping off at his bakery was a compulsory part of any visit to St Martins. I’ll be visiting Scilly this year (as I do most years) – people need to realise that the Scilly we know and love is a valuable but ultimately fragile resource – use it or lose it!

Sorry to hear this, I hope everything gets sorted for Toby soon, what a stressfull time. Lets hope some happy storys about Scilly soon might go towards boosting the number of visitors, or at least encouraging a few more people to consider visiting our beautiful little islands.
