Duke and Duchess Of Cornwall Will Visit Scilly Today

If the weather is good enough for flying, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will spend the second day of their 3-day tour of the Westcountry in Scilly today.

Both Charles and Camilla will view the new Five Islands School and open it at around 11.00am.

Clarence House say they are aware of the issues surrounding the school at the moment but are here to celebrate the new building. They will unveil a naming plaque.

The school trip is a bonus and had only recently been added to the itinerary. Two months ago some governors and staff were told that the Prince would not to able to view the school during his visit.

After touring the school, the Duchess will visit the veterinary surgery and the Prince will meet recipients of Local Action Group funding at The Mermaid pub.

The couple will then travel to Bryher to the Sussex Gig Shed, shop and Community Centre.

The couple will be offered a slice of cake, large enough to feed 100, that has been specially baked by Lindsay Rodger for the occasion.

They’ll leave the island at around 3pm.
