Tories Choose Candidates For Police Commissioner

The Conservatives have picked their three candidates for the post of Police Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall.

Applicants went before a panel of Tory MPs from across the region and they’ll stand against Liberal Democrat and Labour hopefuls in the ballot that islanders will be able to vote in this  November.

Their chosen three are Torbay Councillor Alison Hernandez, security expert Paul Biddle and a former RNAS Culdrose Commander Tony Hogg.

Council Chairman Mike Hicks has said he wants candidates to come and face voters in Scilly.

No parties have announced plans to include the islands in public debates or hustings.
