PTA Looking For Marathon Helpers

The primary school pupils’ annual marathon won’t go ahead unless more adults come forward to act as marshals on the route.

The younger children follow a shorter circuit around St Mary’s and set off 10 minutes after the secondary school kids.

PTA Chair, Sam Mallon, says she hopes enough helpers will come forward to help for around 90 minutes from 10am on Friday June 15th.

She said marshals just need to check all the children are ok on the route and be there for any falls or tumbles. She said they’ll also have a refreshment stop halfway.

She says anyone can help out as teachers will be there at all times and volunteers won’t need to have CRB checks.

Sam says she’d be keen to hear from anyone who can help as soon as possible so that they can plan the different stages and checkpoints on the route.
