Sick Passenger Airlifted From Ferry Off Scilly

RNAS rescue helicopter from RAF Culdrose

The RNAS Culdrose helicopter was used last night to airlift a sick passenger from a ferry travelling from Ireland to France.

The 54-year-old male was picked up from the Oscar Wilde in the marine traffic separation zone between Seven Stones and Land’s End at around 3.20am this morning.

The weather conditions were so poor at Truro that the chopper landed at Penzance and the patient was taken by road to hospital.
