Candidates Shortlisted For Police Vacancy

The Islands' Policing Team with former Chief Constable Stephen Otter

Eight police constables have applied for a policing vacancy at St Mary’s police station.

PC Mark Blyth will leave the islands in August at the end of his three-year posting.

Inspector Jean Phillips says three officers have been invited for interview on the 18th. She says all the applicants were very good and it was hard to let down five people.

She says that the three shortlisted candidates did stand out amongst the crowd.

The applicants have also been offered a trip out with their partners before the interview to see the accommodation and discuss the role with the team.

That PC Mark eee came to Isle of Scilly like a Swindon Town tiger, but he turned into a right sheep. He always found excuse to not see us mighty reds at the Wemberlee with all the boys – not good – he should be ashamed, like naughty boy – send to bed early. He talk the talky but not walk the walky – we championese without him. We are Swindon we’re top of the league.
