Charity Shop To Support Christian Aid Week

It’s Christian Aid next week and the all of the money raised by the St Mary’s Church charity shop on Saturday will be sent to the appeal.

Organiser Sue Hodgson isn’t sure how much that could be but she says, as it’s a church fundraising sale, they should support the cause.

She says the charity do great work in the third world, especially helping farmers in Africa.

Sue says they’ll also place a donations tin on the counter to allow visitors who are missing their usual door-to-door donation at home to give to the charity.

Sue says the organisers of the charity shop have agreed that, from time to time, the proceeds can go to specially nominated charities, preferably linked to a national charity so people are aware of what is happening to the money.
