Barn Can Be Converted To Serviced Accommodation

Council Chambers at the Old Wesleyan Chapel

A stone barn at Green Farm, Pelistry, which had been converted to a workshop in 2009, can now be used as serviced visitor accommodation.

Councillors voted to allow the change of use, following a recommendation from Chief Planning Officer, Craig Dryden.

Craig said granting planning approval would allow the continued use of the traditional building and enhance the quality of the visitor accommodation within the existing farm and on the islands as a whole.

Some external work to the barn will be carried out.

Four new roof lights will be installed in the roof and a single doorway in the south east elevation will be replaced with double, half-glazed timber French doors in the same style as used in the farmhouse.
