Documentary Producer Seeking Memories Of Queen’s Visit

The Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Charles outside the museum in 1967

Did you speak to the Queen during her first visit to Scilly in the 60’s?

BBC producer Andrew Brown is trying to find islanders who spoke with Her Majesty during her 1967 walkabout.

He’s making a documentary, The Queen and I, about her trips to the Southwest and he wants to trace anyone who spoke with her at St Mary’s hospital.

Andrew says the footage would suggest it was the maternity ward.

The archive film also shows Prince Charles and the Queen talking with school children and a teacher in what would have been a fashionable hat.

If you want to talk on camera about your memories, you can contact Andrew through Radio Scilly.
