Tresco Coastguards Get Realistic Training Exercise

Tresco Coastguards were sent out to look for a body around Piper’s Hole yesterday lunchtime at around 12.30pm.

But only their leader knew that they’d really only find a plastic, bonfire night-type Guy.

Their leader Nick Shiles had the idea over the weekend after some visitors who entered the cave saw what they thought was a corpse in the water.

The youngsters were scared but when their father ventured back he realized it was a dummy.

Nick said his three colleagues were pleased to discover that they had been sent on a training exercise.

He said it was good practise for them because a deceased person was once found in the cave.
