Less Chlorine In Normandy Pool

If you haven’t used the Normandy pool because you don’t like the effects of chlorine, you may want to try it now.

The Council has bought a £2,200 pool ultraviolet filtration system.

It means that less chlorine will be used as the light will be the primary source of disinfection with the traditional pool chemical added just as a backup.

The Town Hall press office claims the new method will better for the environment and will be cheaper to run. They say it should pay for itself in a few years.

The equipment was installed following feedback to the islands’ healthwatchdog, LINk, and to pool staff from islanders who found level of chlorine off-putting when using the pool.
