Sporting Success For Army Cadets

Army Cadet base on St Mary's

A St Mary’s Army cadet has been picked to play for the Southwest cadets regional football team.

Company Sergeant Major Ben Johnson went to RNAS Yeovilton for the regional football championships with the Cornwall team last weekend.

He will go to Cumbria in a few weeks as goalkeeper in the national championships, against the rest of England and Wales.

It’s going to be a busy few weeks for the cadets.

In three weeks time, Sergeant Joe Sibley, Corporal Lewis Johnson and Corporal Liam Kirkby will be playing rugby for the County at the regional Championships.

Last year Liam was selected for the regional team and Cadets’ boss, Tony Smith, says he hopes that Liam does even better this year.
