Temporary Toilets For Porthcressa After All

Portaloos will be installed at the rear of the Town Hall

Toilets will be available for visitors and locals on Porthcressa in time for the height of the season, a Council officer has confirmed.

There has been criticism of the Council for not making provision for public loos near the beach immediately after the demolition of the Schiller shelter as part of the regeneration scheme.

Strategic Investment Manager, Diana Mompoloki told us two loos for men and two for women have been ordered and will take between three and four weeks to arrive.

It had been hoped that the Town Hall toilets would be made available but it would mean opening the facility all day and there were fears it would create a security risk.

The temporary portaloos, costing £6000, will be paid for out of the existing regeneration budget and will be placed on the tarmac near the bottle banks at the back of the Town Hall.
