Golf Club Store Given Planning Approval

The golf club can build a ‘substantial’ new store and workshop building near the 18th tee, but they will need to offer better landscaping of the site so it cannot be seen from the road.

In the November planning meeting, the Chief Planning Officer, Craig Dryden, suggested that the site for the proposed shed should be moved slightly north, nearer to the main clubhouse.

Planning permission was granted on the basis that the location was altered.

But following a site visit with the applicants, Craig now thinks the original plans were best as the structure would be less visible from the coast path.

Councillors heard that without the additional foliage requested, the existing vegetation means the 18m by 6m pine stockade, vertical-boarded structure would be difficult to see from the roadway.
