Hospital Company Denies Reports It Is Changing Staff Contracts

The social enterprise company that now runs St Mary’s hospital has denied reports that it is planning to change terms and conditions for it’s employees.

This follows a report in the well-respected Nursing Standard magazine, which claimed Peninsula Community Health is already considering changes to staff terms and conditions.

However, Peninsula’s Spokesperson, Sue Shillabeer, denied the reports, saying she was “not sure of the source of this information.”

The article says the impact of the push towards social enterprises for delivering healthcare is being felt most in the South West, with seven established or planned across the region, the largest number in England.

It says this is leading to a period of uncertainty for nurses, unions, patients and community services.
