MP Wants Health Bill Axed

Andrew George, MP

Scilly’s MP Andrew George had asked the Government to axe the controversial Health and Social Care Bill.

During Health Questions in the House of Commons, Mr George said that, when the Government introduced the Health and Social Care Bill a year ago, it justified it with the claim that the NHS doesn’t achieve the same patient outcomes as its counterparts in Europe.

However, he stated that is now known not to be the case.

Secretary of State, Andrew Lansley MP, disputed Mr George’s point and confirmed that the Government would continue to proceed with the Bill.
