Christmas Concert On St Mary’s This Evening

A large concert of mostly seasonal music, readings and sketches is being hosted on St Mary’s this evening.

Although the Christmas concert is in the Methodist Church, it isn’t a religious event.

This year’s production has been organised by Maggie Perkovic and June Lethbridge and will include a short play based on Downton Abbey.

Almost 80 performers are taking part in the choirs and Tea Band alone.

Reverend Charlie Gibbs is hosting the evening but June says he won’t be able to tell too many jokes, and there is an added attraction this year – the 50 strong female choir, the Scilly Sirens will be performing at the concert for the first time.

Maggie says they’ve put together a programme but they are not going to have a run through first, so the evening could be a surprise for everyone!

The concert begins at seven o’clock with refreshments afterwards and a collection for the Air Ambulance.
