Ben Howard Cancels Scilly Gig Due To Accident

There was disappointment for 180 fans of Devon-born folk singer Ben Howard last night.

His sell–out gig at the Old Town Inn was called off during the middle of the afternoon because Ben was stuck on the A38 outside Plymouth, after the dual carriageway was closed due to a serious accident.

His party we’re just 2 minutes behind the incident. The traffic was at a standstill and he was unable to make his flight.

Ben is said to be “absolutely gutted” as he was looking forward to playing on the islands on what would have been the last show of the year.

Keith Campion of the Old Town Inn intends to reschedule the gig for next year, maybe January.

Katie Thomas of SW1 productions says if ticketholders cannot make a rescheduled gig they should go back to point of purchase for a refund.

Ben’s performance was secured after fan Katie Graham encouraged islanders to ask him to come here. He had offered a gig in the community that sent the greatest number of requests.

Island band, Complex, were set to support him.
