School Amphitheatre Needs Rebuilding

The Five Islands School

Councillors have heard that the school amphitheatre, the stepped area by the entrance, will have to be reconstructed.

Chief executive of the Council, Philip Hygate, told yesterday’s full council meeting that it was disappointing that there had been subsidence, adding it could have been easily avoidable if it had been done properly.

Kier Western remains responsible for snagging and remedial works identified under warranties as part of the contract.

Site work is continuing, with the playing fields and meadow area being landscaped but these won’t be available for pupils to use until at least next spring.
