Seasonal Treats At Church Christmas Bazaar

Mince pies and coffee were on offer at the Christmas Bazaar in the Church Hall on St Mary’s yesterday.

In a seasonal departure from the usual Charity Shop, cakes and refreshments were served alongside a Christmas cake raffle and tombola.

Canon Peter Walker, who was serving coffee at the event, said there had been a steady flow of visitors all morning, as well as a bit of a rush at the end.

Several people made fresh cakes for the fundraiser including one person, Peter told us, who’d arrived back on the island the night before and had then proceeded to start baking.

Peter says there will be a special Charity Shop opening on Thursday 22nd Dec for last minute gifts and items for New Years’ fancy dress. Proceeds will be going to the Cornish homeless charity, St Petroc’s.
