Big Success For New School Christmas Fair

Jo Probert held a "Name the Moose" competition

The first Christmas Fair at the new school is being viewed as a success.

Dozens of islanders attended the Saturday afternoon event.

The Sands stillbirth charity was one of the stallholders. They alone brought in over £1000 in sales for their cause.

PTA Chairman, Rich Kendrick, was pleased with the turnout and said the venue at the new school was fantastic. The event gave many people a chance to look around the building for the first time.

He says the PTA committee worked hard to ensure the event went well and was grateful for the support shown by the local community.

Youngsters queued for up to half an hour to enter Santa’s grotto.

And in an exclusive interview, Santa told us some children were asking for costly Christmas gifts this year, including Nintendo’s, iPads and a horse!

Santa added someone might want to explain to the kids what a recession is.
