Police Chief Loses Patience With Irresponsible Dog Owners

Sergeant Colin Taylor

Our Islands’ Police Chief says he’s had enough of dog owners who don’t clean up after their pets.

Sergeant Colin Taylor says he knows it’s just a minority of owners and he won’t hesitate to issue a ticket if he catches someone allowing their dog to foul the pavement.
Colin says he has the option to resort to a ticket or prosecution under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

He’s asked people to let him know if they regularly witness an owner allowing their dog to foul the pavement.

And he says if he sees a dog fouling and it is without an owner, he’ll try to find out who that is and require them to clear up the mess.
