Garden Of Remembrance Opened In The Park

Islands’ church leaders have offered prayers at the opening of a Garden of Remembrance in The Park.

Crosses and poppies can be left in the area before the annual remembrance service at 11am on November 14th,

Canon Peter Walker and Reverend Charlie Gibbs were asked to officiate on behalf of the islands’ Anglican and Methodist churches along with Council Chairman Mike Hicks.

Poppy Appeal organiser Smudge Smith has thanked the Council for their assistance.

Smudge says poppies are available throughout Hugh Town, Old Town and the Off-Islands.
