Money And Goods Stolen From Bryher Recovered

A team of divers have found alcohol and money stolen from Bryher over the summer.

When honesty boxes and mobile devices were taken on 13th August there was local outrage and Radio Scilly listeners on the mainland offered cash to make good the All Saints Church collection.

But yesterday, PC Mat Collier from St Mary’s police received a call from Dave Mcbride of the Tiburon dive boat. A team of divers on board, carrying out survey work in the Tresco Channel came across a bag filled with bottles of whisky and vodka, a collection box and coins in three metres of water.

Dave Mcbride says it wasn’t exactly what the party were expecting to find.

It was handed over to Mat on the quay side who said he was surprised that the stolen goods had been recovered after such a long time.

Mat has requested that anyone who recognises the Slazenger mini tennis bag to get in touch with him at the station.
