Tourism Students Spend Night At Hell Bay

Hell Bay Hotel, Bryher

Six Travel and Tourism BTEC students from the Five Islands School spent Tuesday night as guests at Bryher’s Hell Bay Hotel to experience Scilly as visitors.

The year 11 youngsters also dined there as they researched customer experiences and learned about customer care.

The pupils will write a report on what, if anything, they’d change about the business and they’ll also design promotional material.

Headteacher of the Five Islands School, Bryce Wilby, says Tourism Studies is one of the fast growing courses in the UK and it’s important that it’s delivered here, as tourism is the lifeblood of the islands.
