Firefighters Tackle Gorse Blaze On St Agnes

Firefighters from two islands dealt with a gorse fire at the Western end of St Agnes yesterday afternoon.

The alarm was raised just after 2pm.

The blaze, which is being described as large, was on the downs near to the Nag’s Head.

All of the St Agnes fire crew were in attendance and were assisted by six firefighters from St Mary’s.

They made sure it was contained and didn’t cross the path and crews were stood down by 5pm.
