Major Holiday Company Seeks Additional Accommodation On Islands

A major holiday company has sent three staff to our islands to try and find more accommodation providers for the Scilly section of the 2012 brochure.

Premier specialise in trips for couples or small parties to UK islands and will promote us alongside The Isle of Man, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.

They are the largest operator of breaks to Jersey and Beverley Scarr from Premier says they carry around 35,000 passengers a year to the Channel Islands.

She says, while the number of beds available in Scilly is a lot less, they’d be happy to bring even a small percentage of that number to Scilly.

Beverly has come to assess the islands with two colleagues and the party spent yesterday on St Mary’s. They’ll be visiting two off-islands tomorrow.

First impressions are good and they’ve picked up on our beautiful scenery and relaxed way of life, which Beverley says will appeal to their customers

She says Scilly has a very different feel and will complement Premier Holidays’ other offerings.

They’re already speaking to a few hotels on St Mary’s, but are also keen to hear from larger guesthouse with six or more bedrooms on offer.

The second edition of their 2012 brochure is being printed in January so Beverly needs to hear from anyone interested by the end of next month. You can email her on beverley.scarr@premierholidays.co.uk

It’s not the first time Scilly has been promoted with the Channel Islands. Last year Prestige Holidays started advertising us alongside Guernsey.
