St Martin’s Resident Patching Roads This Weekend

St Martin’s drivers will be encouraged to stay off the roads this weekend while repairs are made to the island’s roads.

The road is private and the Council doesn’t arrange repairs there, so a team of around a dozen islanders will patch up areas that need attention.

Terry Davis says that the Duchy of Cornwall provide the cement and the aggregate and locals will supply the labour. They don’t do this every year, only when it is necessary.

Terry says the’ve surveyed the roads and marked potholes or broken areas with red paint. He says there’s nothing major to fix, just a few patches that are needing attention.
