Drug Searches Made On Scillonian Passengers

Passengers on yesterday’s Scillonian III sailing from Penzance to the islands were subjected to sniffer dog checks.

Devon and Cornwall police also screened the luggage of the 260 passengers for drugs.

One man, who lives in Scilly, was searched following the dog’s reaction but police had no reason to arrest him.

Sergeant Colin Taylor met the boat at St Mary’s quay and he says he heard positive comments from people who were pleased to see the searches underway.
