Facelift For Town Centre Building

Parade House with it's new paintwork

The Chairman of the Council’s Community Services committee says he’s pleased that Parade House looks presentable again.

The high-profile, Council–owned building, in the centre of town has attracted complaints over the last two years because of its deteriorating exterior decor.

Yesterday evening, the scaffolding that has been in place for a week was removed.

Councillor Richard McCarthy says he’s impressed that the contractor, Wright Construction, has been able to sort things out in barely a week.

He’s conscious that the building has been an eyesore for much longer than he would have liked, and would have preferred that the appearance was improved before the start of last season, but says it looks much better now.

Richard says the contractor had been busy working on the Park House improvement including the lift and that’s been a more urgent job.
