Lifelong Learning Celebrate 10th Anniversary With Special Event

The Lifelong Learning team is celebrating 10 years of delivering vocational courses and training programmes on the Islands with a special event this evening.

Jo Evans told us the evening will be a showcase of work that has been produced by previous learners including jewellery, scarves and paintings but there’ll also be a chance to find out about upcoming leisure and business-skills courses.

Awards will also be given out to learners and businesses who have made significant contributions to the courses or life on the islands.

Special guest will be Paul Dodgson, writer-in-residence at Exeter University and frequent writer for Eastenders, who has delivered several creative writing courses here in Scilly. He will be giving a presentation at the event.

All past and present learners and tutors have been invited and refreshments will be available.

The event is taking place tonight (28thSept) at the new Five Islands School at Carn Gwaval, 6.00-8.30pm.
