Heliport Planning Meeting Delayed

Penzance heliport

We’ll have to wait a bit longer to hear what will happen to our helicopter service

Plans to discuss the redevelopment of the Penzance Heliport site at Eastern Green have been delayed by Cornwall Council.

It now intends to discuss the application on 20th October 2011.

Cornwall planner Peter Bainbridge says it is to ensure that the impact of this proposed development, combined with that submitted by Tesco, can be fully understood before a decision is made on this matter.

Managing Director of BIH, Tony Jones, told us this would not directly impact plans for St Erth although it may mean they start operating from the new site later than originally planned.

I made a comment when I saw that a decision would be made on the 22nd. I now see that I and no doubt many others will have to wait until 20th Oct to finalise a holiday or look elsewhere. What sort of Planner at the last minute states “the impact needs to be understood”. This has been talked about for a long time I believe so what have they been doing.
No wonder visitor number are dropping.
