Last Sailing Race Of Season Takes Place Tomorrow

Local and visiting sailors can test their skills as they mark the end of the sailing season tomorrow, with the second of the Tresco Tack events.

Boats will race to Tresco from St Mary’s tomorrow but the exact course won’t be finalised until the morning. Richard Smith, from the St Mary’s Sailing Club says there was a good turnout last year, with around 25 participants.

The event starts at the Quay head in St Mary’s at 11.00am and is expected to last 90 minutes. There’ll be prize giving afterwards in the New Inn.

Richard says there’s been a lot of interest in the sailing club this year and he’s hoping some of the new sailors will take part

This will be the last Sunday race before the end of season barbeque.
