School Football Club Gets New Chairman

New chairman, Duncan Graham

The Five Islands School football club has elected a new chairman.

Duncan Graham, who has been heavily involved as a coach at the club, will take over from Dave Stone who’s been with the club since it’s inception as treasurer, chairman and coach.

Dave told us he wanted a more hands-on role so he will be fixture secretary along with Sharon Vaughan. That involves arranging all the matches for the visiting schools.

Duncan says he hopes to build on the already high membership of 90 school pupils. The club will play on the new multiuse games area on Saturday and in two weeks time, members have an away trip to Plymouth Argyle for coaching.

Duncan says insurance constraints mean that all players will have to have paid their £20 subscription before they can play at the start of the season.
